If you always wanted to know about God… but were afraid to ask – then www.godsearchscotland.org.uk might be a good place to start.
Welcome! You’re not the only one who’s maybe wondering whether God is really still credible in the 21st Century. After all, given scientific reasoning, loads of other beliefs, all the suffering in the world, and – yes, we admit it – the church itself sometimes, can anyone still believe in God and Jesus Christ and all that Christian religious stuff, without switching their brain off?
We believe the answer is “Yes!” And we invite you to join our journey.
The two weeks starting Monday 27 February is Fairtrade Fortnight and, throughout 2012, people here are being asked to take their own steps to support and raise awareness of Fairtrade. The name of the campaign is “Take a Step” and each step can be as big or as small as you choose – from buying a Fairtrade product to joining a local campaign group such as the current one to make Cumbernauld a Fairtrade Town. Each step counts so, to find out more and join up, go to www.fairtrade.org.uk/step

The season of Lent, which starts on Wednesday 22 February, is a time for Christians to reflect, pray and be thankful for the goodness of God and the blessings we have received. For Lent 2012 Christian Aid has produced a series of resources on the theme of Count Your Blessings and encourage us to join them on the Count Your Blessings journey during Lent and, as we do, support some of the poorest communities in the world. There are prayers and reflections for each week of Lent, a daily calendar which takes you through Lent using thought-provoking reflections and engaging actions that will encourage you, not only in your own life but in praying for those living in poverty around the world, worship resources for small groups, and children’s activities.
