Christian Aid: West Africa food crisis appeal

Christian Aid has launched an emergency appeal as more than 12 million people across five west African countries are in the midst of a severe food crisis. Niger, Mali, Chad, Burkina Faso and Mauritania are all facing a chronic malnutrition crisis, and in many areas communities are surviving by eating wild roots and fruits and restricting themselves to one meal a day. A million children are at risk from malnutrition.
Christian Aid has already provided funds to finance an urgent early intervention programme in those countries where they have long-term partners and donating to their appeal will help continue extend the scope of this work. Click on the link below to find out more and to donate.

  1. This is serious plight faced by millions of people and we are grateful to you for sharing this link. We don’t want to draw attention away from a fellow charity, but if people would like to show regular support, they can sponsor a child in an affected area here http://www.worldvision.org.uk/child-sponsorhip or give a gift that can help communities here http://www.musthavegifts.org. Thank you.
