Holy Week & Easter

A number of Worship Services and activities will be taking place in our five churches during Holy Week. All are open to everyone, with the exception of the Children’s Craft activities for which registration is required.

Palm Sunday 1 April

  • 10.15am Morning Worship, Cumbernauld Old
  • 10.30am Morning Worship, Kildrum
  • 11.00am Morning Worship, Condorrat
  • 11.15am Morning Worship, Abronhill
  • 11.15am Morning Worship, St Mungo’s
  • 11.45am Morning Worship, Forge Community Centre, Balloch (Cumbernauld Old)
  • 6.30pm Service of Prayer and Reflection, entitled ‘A Journey Towards Holy Week’, Abronhill

Monday 2 April

  • 7.30pm Worship Service, led by the minister, Abronhill

Tuesday 3 April

  • 10.00am – 12.30pm Children’s Craft Group, Abronhill
  • 7.30pm Worship Service, led by the Kirk Session, Abronhill

Wednesday 4 April

  • 7.30pm Worship Service, led by the Guild, Abronhill

Maundy Thursday 5 April

  • 10.00am – 12.30pm Children’s Craft Group, Abronhill
  • 7.00pm Communion Service, Condorrat
  • 7.00pm Communion Service, Kildrum
  • 7.30pm Communion Service, Abronhill
  • 7.30pm Communion Service, Cumbernauld Old

Good Friday 6 April

  • 10.45am – 1.00pm (approx) Good Friday Walk of Witness. Meet at Sacred Heart Church. There will be a short act of worship there and at several other churches before finishing at Cumbernauld URC at approximately 1pm (where tea and sandwiches will be served). Arranged by Cumbernauld Churches Together.
  • 12noon – 3.00pm Good Friday Vigil, with Scripture readings and prayer every quarter-hour, Kildrum
  • 12noon – 3.00pm Good Friday Vigil, with Scripture readings and prayer every half-hour, Cumbernauld Old
    During these vigils the churches will be open for prayer and reflection; please come and go as you wish, you do not need to stay for the whole period.

  • 7.00pm Worship Service, Condorrat
  • 7.00pm Worship Service, St Mungo’s, led by Rev John Jenkinson
  • 7.30pm Worship Service, led by the Men’s Breakfast group, Abronhill

Saturday 7 April

  • 10.00am – 12.30pm Children’s Craft Group, Abronhill

Easter Day 8 April

  • 7.00am Praise Service in the Plaza, followed by breakfast, Abronhill
  • 7.00am Communion in the Chancel Garden, followed by breakfast, Kildrum
  • 10.15am Morning Worship, Cumbernauld Old
  • 10.30am Morning Worship, Kildrum
  • 11.00am Morning Worship, Condorrat
  • 11.15am Morning Worship, Abronhill
  • 11.15am Morning Worship, St Mungo’s
