On Saturday 8th December at around 11am Cumbernauld Old will be holding the next of its Toddlers’ Praise services in the Parish Church. This is a service for the wee ones and their families and will – as you might expect – have a Christmas theme. There will be songs, stories and games; there will be tea and coffee for the grown-ups, and juice for the young ones. There may even be a birthday cake to share – after all, we are getting ready to celebrate Jesus’ birthday.
Our worship services on Sunday 9th December at 10.15 and 11.45 will both be Carol Services, led by Donald Morrison and our Missional Community Group. They will also be our Annual Gift Services and we invite those attending to bring a small gift, wrapped and marked ‘boy’ or ‘girl’ with the suggested age of the intended recipient. All of the gifts will be passed to the Social Work Department based in Easterhouse for distribution. Thank-you.
On Sunday 16th December at 3.00pm in the Parish Church we are holding our annual Rainbow Service – a service of remembrance and memorial for people who have been bereaved, recently or long ago, and who find the ‘jolly’ side of Christmas painful and who wish to remember loved ones quietly. The service will last about 45 minutes and there will be tea and coffee and a chance to chat afterwards. Please note that the service is not suitable for very young children (under three) but there will be a crèche and helpers available to look after children during the service.
