Denny Old Parish Church – Sandbag night

Denny Old are hosting an evening for ex-military personnel and their families on Wednesday 17th April from 7-9pm. Sandbag Night at Denny Old
Studies have shown that many of those who serve in the armed forces can have difficulty either settling back into civilian life, or experience stress and other related illness many years after they have left the forces. Along with Falkirk Council, Citizens Advice, Veterans Scotland, The Royal British Legion and hopefully the local churches, we want to develop a network of support to help soldiers, sailors, airmen and their families to cope with these changes, and those who may be affected in the future.
If there are people in your church or parish who may benefit from this, please let them know. Thank-you.

Cumbernauld Old Project ROCK – All Systems Go!

It has taken us nearly nine years, and lots of hard work, fund-raising and form-filling, but the renovation work on our church roof is due to begin in a couple of weeks. Our church building and Session House will be closed after our Sunday worship service on 14th April for a period of around 18 weeks.

On Sunday 21st April there will be a joint worship service in Abronhill Parish Church for all the five congregations of the Church of Scotland in Cumbernauld and then, from 28th April onwards, our 10.15am service on Sunday mornings will take place in the Village Hall in The Wynd. Our 11.45am services will continue as normal in the Forge Community Centre, Balloch.

Condorrat Parish Church

An opportunity to meet our Mission Partner

On Tuesday 16th April at 6.30 pm our Mission Partner, the Headteacher at Tabeetha School in Jaffa, will be visiting us.  This is when the Girls’ Brigade meets but the visit is open to all who may wish to come along and perhaps have a chat over a cup of tea/coffee afterwards.  As the school celebrates its 150th anniversary this year this is an opportune time for the visit.

Congratulations to our Minister, the Rev Grace Saunders, on her appointment as Convenor of Presbytery’s Church and Community Committee.

Thank you to the Spar Shop in Condorrat for their donation of £127 to the Church.

Sanctuary Refurbishment

We are delighted to have been awarded a substantial grant of £30,000 from the Environmental Key Fund (EKF).  The Steering Group continues to source grants from a number of other bodies and are also pursuing other sources of funding along with our own fund-raising efforts.  The next of these is a Fish supper / beetle drive on Wednesday 24th April at 7pm. Tickets are £7-50 (includes the fish supper) and are available now.  All are welcome.
