JAFA at Abronhill

JAFA (Jesus and Families Altogether), the initiative run by Abronhill Parish Church, is on this Sunday 30th June and is open to all parents and children in the area. There will be various activities for family groups, followed by a meal and a short act of worship. It all takes place from 4pm – 6pm in Abronhill Parish Church on Sunday 30th June. Looking ahead: there will be a holiday club at the end of July, also in Abronhill, and we’ll post details of that shortly.

Messy Church is back!

The Points North team of Condorrat and Cumbernauld Old Parish Churches present their next Messy Church this coming Sunday 30th June.
Messy Church takes place at the Forge Community Centre, Balloch from 4pm – 6pm. Messy Church is described as “a couple of hours of fun and mess” and is a time for people of all ages to come together and enjoy crafts and games, hear stories from the Bible and share in a time of celebration, followed by dinner. What better way to start the summer holidays?

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) have told us that their latest aircraft will be on show at Cumbernauld Airport from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 29th June. There will be tours of the aircraft, a MAF exhibition trailer and MAF staff (including pilots) on hand, plus family fun, refreshments, a book stall and much more. So come along and support a very worthwhile charity and find out more about what they do.

Condorrat Church ‘Banner Headlines’

The Banner group has produced a beautiful banner depicting all the groups within our church under the heading of Bind Us Together. This lovely work is now proudly displayed in the church for all to see and appreciate.

  • ImageOther news:
    • Sunday 16th June was the Sunday School’s Prize-giving.  The service was a joyful one with the children entertaining us with action songs and encouraging us all to join in a lively rendition of Alleluia Praise the Lord.  All the men were given a chocolate and book mark to celebrate Father’s Day.  Thank you Sunday School and teachers.
    • The Guild, the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades have all had another busy and interesting year and are now taking a break for the summer.
    • Tickets are now available for the Ladies Lunch and Fashion Show at the Westerwood Hotel on Saturday 21st September. All proceeds will go to our Sanctuary Refurbishment Project.  The fund is now growing due to the many fund-raising events and some recent substantial grants for which we are extremely grateful.

Christian Aid Week – a BIG thank-you

This money collected in this year’s Christian Aid Week house-to-house collection in the parish of Cumbernauld Old has now been counted and the provisional total raised was a superb £2402.73 (there may be some minor adjustments to that total). Of that sum £1268.76 was Gift-Aided, which means an additional £300+ will go to Christian Aid from the UK Treasury. On top of that sum our Boys’ Brigade company raised over £400 for Christian Aid at their annual display, so thanks to everyone who contributed in any way, either with their time or with their money. Well done, everyone!

Cumbernauld Old Toddlers’ Praise

Everyone is invited to our Toddlers’ Praise service on Saturday 22nd June at 11am in the Roadside Hall, Cumbernauld Village. It’s worship on a summer theme for the wee ones and their families with songs, stories, games and activities. We invite those attending to dress in sunny, summer clothes and maybe even bring a bucket and spade (although we can’t guarantee there will be sand!) There will, however, be a choice of tea, coffee, biscuits and juice for young and old alike.
