Following on from her well received first book of meditations, Kay Brown, a Reader with The Church of Scotland living in Falkirk, has written her second book which is a collection of meditations for Advent & Christmas.
Falkirk Christian Bookshop is pleased to be again hosting a launch for Kay’s book, which promises to be an inspiring time.
This will include Kay reading from her book, a chance to meet and speak with her and have your book signed as well as partaking in refreshments.
This event will take place on Saturday 12th October 2013 at 2.00pm for 2.30pm in The Falkirk Christian Centre 1 Glebe Street Falkirk FK1 1HX – upstairs from the bookshop.

The people at Cumbernauld Old are hoping to produce a new Cookery Book which we will have on sale at this year’s Christmas Fayre on Saturday 23rd November. So, we are asking people to share their favourite recipes: either old ones they have used through the years or tasty new discoveries. We are hoping to have a range of both savoury and sweet dishes, so feel free to share more than one if you wish.
Please pass any recipes to us as soon as possible, and by 22nd September at the latest so we can get them typed up and collated. Thank you!
Points North Messy Church is back after the summer break on Sunday 8th September. The fun starts at 4:00pm in the Forge Community Centre, Balloch.
This month’s theme is “Love Your World” and the crafts will reflect some of the wonderful things in our world: insects, birds, plants and animals, all part of God’s creation.
We hope you will come along and join us at the Forge for two hours of fun and fellowship and the chance to meet new friends.
Sunday Services – 11am.
- There will be a ‘Giving of Talents Service’ on Sunday 15th September. The theme is ‘Don’t Hide your Light under a Bushel’ and will be a service in two parts – first in the Sanctuary and then in the Church halls.

The Sanctuary Refurbishment Steering Group has been working diligently and is delighted to inform the congregation of the “Great News”, that we are now in a position to commence the Refurbishment. The proposed start date is October, lasting approximately eighteen weeks. Whilst the Sanctuary is being refurbished all our services will take place in the Church halls. During the project there will be no vehicle access to the Church grounds but arrangements have been made with the Nursery in Kirk Place to have the use of their car park during this time. “This is a major step in the future life of our Church in Condorrat which can enable us to be more involved in the local community and them with us.”

A Coffee Morning in aid of the McMillan Cancer Fund will be held in the Church halls on Friday 27 September from 10 am. All are welcome, to support this worthwhile cause!
The theme for this year’s Stewardship Season in Cumbernauld Old is the Stewardship of Talents. During the month of September we will encourage people to identify or discern their own gifts or talents; recognise that everyone has at least one (and probably more than one!) talent to offer; acknowledge that God is the giver of all the talents we have; and consider the ways in which we might develop or use these talents, either within the church community or beyond. Should be fun!
