Condorrat Parish Church

Our annual Christmas Fayre will be held in the Church halls on Saturday 30th November at 12 noon and is to be opened by Jamie Hepburn, MSP.  As well as the usual stalls and the ever popular tearoom supplying soup and rolls, the organisers hope to have a very special visitor.  They will have his Grotto ready, just in case!  Do come along – everyone is very welcome!

Remembrance Sunday:  We hosted the Remembrance Service and took part in the Service at the Memorial Wall and Memorial Corner.  This year, for the first time, there is a ‘Condorrat Banner’ purchased with money raised in the community.  This was dedicated at the Service and will be stored with the Banners of the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigades.

Guild: On 20th November the Guild will be hearing of the work of the Scottish Churches Housing Association, one of their projects.  All are welcome to come along.

Advance notice of the Condorrat Has Talent show which is to take place in the Church hall on Friday 17 January 2014 at 7pm. A wide variety of musical styles will be covered, so hopefully there’s something for everyone and a chance to see some newer talent (probably some older too!)  Tickets are now on sale at a cost of £5.00 for adults and £2.00 for children.  Proceeds are going to the Organ Fund. If tickets sell quickly there may be a second performance on Saturday the 18th.

Hi, I am wondering if you can advise, I would like to request a stall within the Christmas Fair.
My name is Lauren Gemmell and presently at Cumbernauld High School in 6th year. In June 2014, I am taking part in a World Challenge Event and will be travelling to Ghana. Although not confirmed as yet, but within the two week stay and along with the Team of Challengers I will be included within, we will be helping the local community which can be constructive work, farming, etc.
To enable me to travel to Ghana and to take part in the challenge, I have to raise £1948 in both Team and individual fundraising events.
For my individual event, I am making “Little Bags of Happiness”, which are little organza bags tied together with a card attached. Within the bag there are various items, which are explained on the care, e.g. Heart – just to remind you how much I love you, String – to hold on to when things fall apart, Feather – to lighten your heavy load, etc. I have been selling the bags for £2 each and so far have made approx. £1500, with many people buying for stocking fillers last Christmas.
I would appreciate if you would give me the opportunity to sell them at the Christmas Fair which will help me to reach my target for this worthwhile cause.

If this is not possible, I would like to Thank You for taking the time to read this email.

    Lauren Gemmell
