This is Christian Aid Week. This year it runs from Sunday 10 to Saturday 16 May.
The video below tells the story of two women and their community in Ethiopia, and how HUNDEE, a local partner of Christian Aid is helping them. It’s is also a story of how our donations in Christian Aid Week will make a difference.
If you can donate to Christian Aid Week, please do so. Thank-you. If not, thanks for taking the time to watch the video and remember the work of Christian Aid in your prayers.
The date for the sponsored walk round the church parish boundaries is Saturday 20 June. Details of the route and the segments will be posted in the kitchen hall notices and sponsor sheets made available.
Please note, so that the whole area is covered, walkers can chose which segment(s) they plan to walk and for which they seek sponsors. The idea came from the Riding the Marches in the Border towns, but as they go round on horseback we don’t expect anyone to walk the whole way round the parish! Most of the walk will be on footpaths in the built-up areas, just a bit of the outlying part may be cross country.
If you’d like to take part in the walk and a sponsor form, or would like to sponsor a walker, please contact Abronhill church or let us know via this website. Thanks!
The Craft Group at Abronhill Parish Church is holding a coffee morning in the church kitchen hall from 10.30 to 12.30 on Saturday 30th May in aid of church funds. There will also be a sale of craft items made by members of the group. We hope you can come along and enjoy the fare on offer and look forward to seeing you there!
