As the Forge Community Centre, Balloch will be closed for essential maintenance at the beginning of August, there will be just one service at Cumbernauld Old on Sundays 2, 9 and 16 August. This will be held in the Parish Church in Cumbernauld Village at the revised time of 11.00am. Transport will be available from Balloch for anyone who requires it.
All being well, we’ll revert to our usual two services at 10.15am in the Parish Church and 11.45am in the Forge Centre from Sunday 23rd August onwards.
Please note there will be no Open Day at the Church on Wednesday 22nd and 29th July.
Tickets are now available for the Maasai Warriors performance on Wednesday 2nd September at 7 pm – Adults £8 and Children £4. Tickets can be obtained from Mrs Margaret McCallum 01236 728086
Since 2004 the Osiligi Maasai Warriors, a seven-piece group, has been performing an annual tour of the UK. They perform authentic and exciting Maasai tribal song and dance plus the world-famous Maasai jumping. The shows have been received with great acclaim in schools, churches and theatres from the South Coast of England to the Isle of Skye. Since 2010 the group has worked in close association with a small UK charity to support infrastructural improvements in their local community. One of the conditions of the funding grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for Project ROCK is that Cumbernauld Old Parish Church must open to the public for a number of hours in addition to our weekly worship services.
To meet this requirement Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will be open on Sunday afternoons in July, August and September from 2pm to 5pm and longer on the weekend of Doors Open Days (12 & 13 September). Information leaflets about the Church building will be available for visitors as well as a warm welcome (whatever the weather!)
