News from Cornerstone Food Bank

Norma Cowan, on behalf of Cornerstone House Of Bread Food Bank, has asked us to pass on her thanks for our continuing support in 2015 and for the Christmas contributions to the food bank.

In 2015 there were around 1600 referrals for food parcels in our local community. During 2015 over 3000 meals were served to those in need in the Friendship Cafe on Thursday evenings. In December alone 130 Christmas meals were served and gifts distributed.

Norma goes on to say that we could not continue this ministry without the partnership of like-minded churches and people in Cumbernauld and it is a great testimony to our Lord to have local churches working together to serve and help some of the poorest in our area.

Isaiah 58:10 – “Feed the hungry and help those in trouble, then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”
