At the request of the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland, in return for their generous financial support of the restoration of Cumbernauld Old Parish Church, the Church will be open to the public each Sunday from 10th July to 18th September inclusive from 2pm – 5pm.
A church on the present site was first built in 1225 and the existing building, constructed on these original foundations, came into use in 1659.
If you would like to know our building’s history, from the Plague to the present, and admire its architecture, artifacts and beautiful stained glass windows, please come along on any Sunday afternoon during the summer months. We’d be delighted to see you!
Cumbernauld Old Parish Church is holding a Garden Party this coming Saturday 9th July from 11.00am until 1.00pm in the Manse Garden.
There will be tearoom and a variety of stalls, including some with prizes on offer. So, if you’re looking for a relaxing break on Saturday morning, come along to the Parish Church and enjoy the fun.
Tickets are now available for our annual Ladies Lunch and Fashion Show which is to be held at The Westerwood Hotel on Saturday 15 October. Payment for tickets (£25) should be made by 4 September and are available from Margaret McCallum, tel: 01236 728086 / 07799281876. This is a very popular event and we hope as many of you can come along and enjoy an afternoon of fun.
