Cumbernauld Churches Together are holding a series of Meditations for Lent on Thursdays 15th February, 1st March and 15th March.
These will be based on the “Inviting God In” material, produced by Joyce Rupp, and will take place in the Church House of Condorrat Parish Church at 7.00 for 7.30pm. All welcome!
Falkirk Trinity Church is delighted to announce that John Bell of the Iona Community will be appearing in the church for an evening of light entertainment on Friday 16th February!
This event, titled ‘Holy and Humorous‘, will start at 7.00pm and tickets are available, costing £10 (subject to booking fee), from the Church Office or online.
John Bell is a member and resource worker of the Iona Community. He is an ordained minister of the Church of Scotland, a hymn writer and occasional broadcaster who works in all continents.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Iona Abbey Capital Appeal.
Falkirk Presbytery of the Church of Scotland has been invited to send a ‘youth rep’ (aged 18-25) to the church’s General Assembly, which takes place in Edinburgh from 18th-25th May 2018.
Youth reps from the church’s presbyteries spend the week together and far from being dull, everyone who goes says it’s one of the best weeks of their year.
Anyone interested in being a presbytery rep should download the Job Description and a Nomination Form, both available from the church’s website) have a read through and think about whether this is something you would like to do.
If it is, then please complete the Nomination Form and send it to your presbytery clerk by 1st Feb 2018. On the form you need to give some details about yourself and why you want to be a rep, and then get two different people to nominate you (one of them needs to be your minister / youth worker). The form also needs signed at the bottom by your minister. Putting your name forward doesn’t mean you will get chosen, but if you don’t put your name forward, then you definitely won’t!
Thursday 18th January marks the start of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2018, which will run until Thursday 25th January.
Cumbernauld Action of Churches Together invite people to join them this Friday (19th) and then next Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th at 12 noon at Church of the Holy Name, Seafar for a short prayer service followed by a soup and roll lunch.
