Knitting for Remembrance

180408_010 Poppy samplers at COPCCumbernauld Old Parish Church and Cumbernauld Village Community Council are looking for ways to commemorate the centenary of the ending of the First World War later this year.

One of the suggestions is to create a memorial display of knitted poppies. They have put together a sample of the kinds of poppies that can be hand-knitted (pictured) and produced knitting patterns for each design.

Obviously, the more poppies that can be knitted, the larger the final display that will be produced. So please pick up a pattern leaflet from the church or from the Community Council and make your own little contribution to the display. Thanks for your help!
