Welcome to our new blog. Hopefully we will be able to put lots of information about all the Cumbernauld Church of Scotland Churches here and also lots of events and activities relating to Abronhill also on this site for everyone to see.
An excellent initiative – the more information and access to it the better. colin macleod
Does the minister have an email address??
No – the best way to contact the minister is at the telephone number in the ‘Abronhill’ page of the blog (click on the tab above).
The number listed seems to be unobtainable.
Do you have alternative means of contacting the minister.
Thanks
Are plans being made for the 50th Anniversary of Abronhill Parish Church?
As founder members of Abronhill we would be interested in hearing of any plans to mark the occasion.
Thank-you for your comment and interest in Abronhill’s big anniversary. I am led to believe that Abronhill Parish Church will be celebrating their 50th anniversary next year – 2015 – although I don’t have specific details yet of what is planned or when these events will happen. I believe the actual anniversary is in October, so that’s the most likely time for the main celebration. We’ll post the news on this website, so watch this space!
There is events happening in October this year. You are probably best to contact the church, for more information. Think it is around mid-Oct. Hope this helps
Hi there
I am looking to attendin your Church however I need to know if you have a sunday school for my children to attend while I am in the service. You advise would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hello Natalie,
The Sunday School at Abronhill (called God’s Gang) meets during morning worship every Sunday and gather in the front hall by 11.10am. Ages from Nursery School age upwards are welcome and there is a crèche available for younger children. Hope this helps!
Hello Natalie,
Just to give you some more information. We have a new thing starting up at the end of January called J.A.F.A. Church (Jesus and Families Altogether) which is designed for families. There will be crafts and other activities, a meal and worship from 4-6pm if you wish to come along.
J.A.F.A. Church went well on Sunday. For those who weren’t there, I’m sorry you missed the fun. The next J.A.F.A. Church will be on Sunday 24th February 4-6pm with the theme of “God’s Love”. Hope to see you there.
J.A.F.A. Church begins again on Sunday 29th September 4-6pm. The theme will be “Harvest” with our activities ranging from dooking for apples to making fish-shaped croutons to go with our tomato soup! All families are welcome.
Simcha – the Abronhill Praise group are holding a concert “A Night at the Musicals” this Saturday at 7.15pm. Tickets are £5. Everyone welcome.
Thanks, Susan – you’ll see that I’ve now added the information about this and JAFA with their own entries.

Hello, is the reverend available at the church any other days/times aside from the sunday worship?
The minister has vestry hour on Thursday evenings. I think it’s from 7pm.
There seems to be a problem with the contact number listed.
Do you have an alternative number , Facebook, email or twitter for the minister
The number shown is the correct one for the Minister. She does not have a Facebook, email or Twitter account. I’m not sure why you’re having a problem unless there is something wrong with the line. Perhaps you could try again.
Hello There,
I was trying to find more information about the Guild of Friendship?
I support a young lady in the community who is quite socially isolated who wants to meet people in a safe friendly environment. Who is the guild open to? When do they meet and is it possible to drop in?
Kind Regards
Sarah Jones
The Guild of Friendship meets on a Thursday afternoon in the Church. It is mainly retired ladies who attend so I’m not sure if the age group would be suitable for your lady but you could certainly go along and see. I think they meet around 2pm.
Hi l am looking for details regarding when and what times Brownies are on in the church? Also is there a named contact I could speak to?
Thank you
Unfortunately there still seems to be a problem with the phone number listed – trying both from a landline and a mobile – so it sounds like it would be worth getting the number/line checked by BT/Openreach/whoever.
You could maybe try our family development worker Susan Boland. Her number is 07858 652352.
