Rainbow Service

181216_015 Cumbernauld Old Rainbow Service 2018The annual Rainbow Service at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church takes place in the Church on Sunday 15th December at 3.00pm. This short, reflective service is for those who have been bereaved, either recently or some time ago, and find Christmas-time particularly painful or tinged with sadness. We invite you to come along for a service of worship and remembrance, peace and hope.

During the service you will have the opportunity to tie a coloured ribbon to the Rainbow Tree in memory of a loved one, as well as take one home as a keepsake. Please note this service is not suitable for young children.

The Rainbow Tree will remain in the Church until Easter Day, when all the ribbons will be carefully removed, ironed and made into something beautiful.

Rainbow Service

Rainbow TreeCumbernauld Old Parish Church holds its annual service of memorial and remembrance next Sunday 14th December at 3.00pm in the Parish Church, Cumbernauld Village.

This service is especially for people who have been bereaved – recently or long ago – and who find the ‘jolly’ side of Christmas painful and wish to remember loved ones quietly. The service will last about 45 minutes and there will be tea and coffee afterwards.

Please note that the service is not suitable for very young children (under three) but there will be a crèche and helpers available to look after the children during the service.

The Rainbow Tree will remain in church after the service, with another at the Forge in Balloch, and you are welcome to add ribbons to it any Sunday during the winter months.

Cumbernauld Old update

On Saturday 8th December at around 11am Cumbernauld Old will be holding the next of its Toddlers’ Praise services in the Parish Church. This is a service for the wee ones and their families and will – as you might expect – have a Christmas theme. There will be songs, stories and games; there will be tea and coffee for the grown-ups, and juice for the young ones. There may even be a birthday cake to share – after all, we are getting ready to celebrate Jesus’ birthday.

Toddlers' Praise

Our worship services on Sunday 9th December at 10.15 and 11.45 will both be Carol Services, led by Donald Morrison and our Missional Community Group. They will also be our Annual Gift Services and we invite those attending to bring a small gift, wrapped and marked ‘boy’ or ‘girl’ with the suggested age of the intended recipient. All of the gifts will be passed to the Social Work Department based in Easterhouse for distribution. Thank-you.
