Christmas is coming, and the Church of Scotland congregations in Cumbernauld are looking forward to welcoming you at one (or more!) of our services. Here’s a little of what we have on offer, in addition to our regular services on Sunday 23rd December:

Girls’ Brigade Coffee Evening

The 1st Condorrat Girls’ Brigade company are having a Christmas Coffee Evening and Sale on Tuesday 4th December at 6.30pm in Condorrat Parish Church. Everyone will be made most welcome.

Entry is by a suggested £2 donation and that includes a cup of tea / coffee and cake. There will also be an opportunity to browse some of our Christmas crafts and play some games at our mini-fair. Check out their events page on Facebook.

Festival of Light 2018

181209_010 Festival of Light posterCumbernauld’s annual Festival of Light worship service will take place on Sunday 9th December at 7.30pm in Sacred Heart Church, Kildrum.

This ecumenical service has been organised by a committee gathered from a number of local churches and we hope as many people as possible will come along and support the event.

Croy Silver Band will again be leading the congregational singing and we will be joined by the choir from one of the local primary schools as well as the Columban Singers from Kilsyth.

No tickets are required, but donations taken at the end of the service will be shared between the Third World Group from Sacred Heart Church and Christian Aid.

Come, journey with the star

Want a break from the rush and busy-ness of Christmas to take some time out to pause and reflect?

Over twenty churches in Falkirk Presbytery of the Church of Scotland are inviting people to “Come, journey with the star” in your own time and in your own way at the Howgate Shopping Centre, Falkirk over three days next week.

Advent Labyrinth 2017

The dates and times are:

Wednesday 20th December, from 12 noon – 3pm
Thursday 21st December, from 11am – 5pm
Friday 22nd December, from 11am – 3pm

Come and Sing!

A reminder that this Sunday evening – 3rd December – there will be a ‘Come and Sing‘ Christmas Carol service in Abronhill Parish Church at 6.30pm.

There will be carols old and new with some spoken words in-between groups of carols, so the congregation can catch their breath! There will also be refreshments afterwards.

Festival of Light

171210_010 Festival of Light posterCumbernauld’s annual Festival of Light carol service will be held on Sunday 10th December 2017 at 7.30pm in St Mungo’s Parish Church in the Town Centre.

Everyone is cordially invited to this ecumenical service of readings and carols. The Croy Silver Band will once more lead the congregational singing, an incredibly talented Gaelic duet will sing, and the choir from Ravenswood Primary School will also contribute to what promises to be another memorable evening.

We invite you to take some time out from all the hustle and bustle in the lead-up to Christmas and join us on the evening of Sunday 10th December. Entry is free and you don’t need a ticket, but donations for Christian Aid and the One World Group will be gratefully received at the end of the service.

Christmas Worship at St Mungo’s

Details of the Christmas worship services at Cumbernauld St Mungo’s Parish Church are now available. Here’s what we have on offer:

Sunday 17th December – 11.15am – Family service presented by the young church.

Sunday 24th December – 11.15am – Christmas Eve morning worship,

then at 7pm on Christmas Eve, we have a Family Watchnight service (note its early timing).
