Cumbernauld Festival of Light

Time for another plug for the annual Festival of Light, organised by Cumbernauld Churches Together, which will be held on Sunday 8th December at 7.30pm in St Mungo’s Parish Church in Cumbernauld.

This beautiful candle-lit ecumenical service of nine hymns and four readings will feature Croy Silver Band as well as local choirs and favourite Christmas carols. Donations for Christian Aid and the Third World Group of Sacred Heart Church would be appreciated, although not necessary.

Please come along and join in our celebration of the Christmas story!

Cumbernauld Festival of Light

Cumbernauld Churches Together warmly invite you to the annual Festival of Light which will be held this year in St Mungo’s Parish Church at 7.30pm on Sunday 8 December.

The Festival of Light, a beautiful candle-lit, ecumenical service of nine hymns and four lessons, is organised by members from various churches in Cumbernauld. As always, it will feature Croy Silver Band as well as local choirs and favourite Christmas Carols. 

Advent Reflections

Cumbernauld Churches Together warmly invite you to a series of advent reflections at the Church of the Holy Name, Seafar on Wednesdays 4th, 11th and 18th December 2019.

Each evening’s proceedings will begin at 7pm with tea and coffee, with the reflections beginning at 7.30pm. All welcome!

Good Friday Walk of Witness

On Friday 19th April (Good Friday) Cumbernauld Churches Together will be taking part in a ‘Walk of Witness’ around various locations in the Town Centre.

Meeting outside the former Dunnes store at 10:15am for a 10:30 start, we will remember the events, and retell the story, of the crucifixion of Jesus on the first Good Friday. Our walk will end about an hour later at Cumbernauld United Reformed Church.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2019

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2019 runs from 18th until 25th January and Cumbernauld Action of Churches Together invite you to two worship services to mark this week in the church calendar.

Please join us on Tuesday 22nd January at 12 noon in Church of the Holy Name for a short worship service followed by a soup and sandwich lunch, and on Thursday 24th January at 7.00pm also at the Church of the Holy Name for a short worship service followed by tea / coffee.

All welcome at either or both services.

 

Festival of Light 2018

181209_010 Festival of Light posterCumbernauld’s annual Festival of Light worship service will take place on Sunday 9th December at 7.30pm in Sacred Heart Church, Kildrum.

This ecumenical service has been organised by a committee gathered from a number of local churches and we hope as many people as possible will come along and support the event.

Croy Silver Band will again be leading the congregational singing and we will be joined by the choir from one of the local primary schools as well as the Columban Singers from Kilsyth.

No tickets are required, but donations taken at the end of the service will be shared between the Third World Group from Sacred Heart Church and Christian Aid.

Meditations for Lent

Lent Meditations 2018Cumbernauld Churches Together are holding a series of Meditations for Lent on Thursdays 15th February, 1st March and 15th March.

These will be based on the “Inviting God In” material, produced by Joyce Rupp, and will take place in the Church House of Condorrat Parish Church at 7.00 for 7.30pm. All welcome!
