The final two fund-raisers of the year for Cumbernauld Old Parish Church are the Christmas Hamper Raffle and Carols by Candlelight, an evening of favourite carols, festive readings and a winter-warmer mulled fruit punch and seasonal bites on arrival.
This will be held in the church on Friday 20th December at 7.30pm. We are suggesting a donation of £5 per ticket, and these are now available. The raffle for the Christmas Hamper will be drawn on the night. We are also still open to donations of items for the hamper.
Everyone is invited to Condorrat Parish Church’s Christmas Fayre this Saturday, 23rd November. The fun takes place in the Church Halls from 12 noon and entry is only £1 (50p for children).
There will be all the usual stalls – crafts, gifts, books, groceries, soft goods and home-baking, plus a cafe where you can have tea or coffee, and even soup and a roll. We are even expecting a visit from Santa Claus!
Bring the family for a grand day out.
The next fund-raising event arranged by Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will be an evening of ‘music, entertainment and dancing’ (according to the publicity poster) in an early celebration of St Andrew’s Night.
It takes place on Friday 22nd November at 7.30pm in Cumbernauld Bowling Club. Tickets cost £5 and include supper. One of the other highlights of the evening will be our grand Christmas Hamper Raffle. It promises to be a fun evening, so please come along and join us.
The Craft Group will be holding a Coffee and Craft afternoon on Monday 28 October from 2pm – 4pm in the kitchen hall. All are welcome. The members of the group have been working very hard at preparing cards and gifts for the stall and all proceeds will go to Church funds. There will be a charge of £2 which will include entrance and tea/coffee/goodies.
Our next ‘Lunch Break’ will be on Monday 4 November in the Church. Soup and light lunches, tea and cakes will be served between 12 noon and 2 pm. All are welcome to come along. Prices available on the day.
The next event on the Fundraising calendar at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church is a Craft Fair and Silent Auction taking place this Friday 25th October at 7.30pm in Cumbernauld Bowling Club.
Tickets are now available and cost £2. This includes tea / coffee and a Christmassy biscuit. We would be grateful for donations for the Silent Auction, for example wine, toiletries, perfume, novelty gifts, foodstuff, household items and bric a brac. These can be handed in on the night. Hope to see you there!
Another date for your diaries is the planned St Andrew’s Night fund-raiser on Friday 22nd November, again for Cumbernauld Old Parish Church, and again taking place at Cumbernauld Bowling Club. More information to follow.
The annual Church Fete at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church is taking place in the manse gardens on Saturday 11th May from 1pm – 3 pm. Tickets cost £3 and include tea / coffee and creamed scone with jam. Children’s entry is free.
The following stalls and activities are planned: Fairtrade gift stall, tombola, ‘New to You’ stall, home baking, raffle, games for children (weather permitting), face painting, and craft stall. The next social and fund-raising event at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will be a Musical Evening on Friday 29th March led by our very talented organist Professor David J.Smith, who will treat us to recitals on harpsichord and organ.
By popular request, David will also be delighting us with his amazing improvisations – will you be able to guess the tune?
There will also be a guest appearance by the Columban Singers, led by their Musical Director Mariot Dallas. Teas, coffees and home baking will be served.
Our last musical evening was a great success, and we are sure this one will be too.
Entry is by a donation to church funds, so please come along by 7.30 on Friday 29th March for a very entertaining and enjoyable evening.
