Cumbernauld: St Mungo’s Parish Church are holding our Harvest Thanksgiving Service this Sunday 7th October at 11.15am.
We’ll be accepting donations of canned or dry non-perishable goods to be forwarded on to the Salvation Army. Alternatively we shall also be accepting monetary donations for the Glasgow City Mission harvest appeal.
St Mungo’s Church Harvest Thanksgiving Service is this Sunday, 14th October. The Young Church and wider congregation are asked to bring non-perishable goods to be donated to the local food bank. We shall also be having a retiring collection to be split between Strathcarron Hospice and The Glasgow City Mission.
A Lunch and Fashion Show is to be held at the Westerwood Hotel on Saturday 6th October in aid of our Sanctuary Refurbishment Project.
We are pleased to note an increase in the youth organisations and we look forward to the service on Sunday 7th October which the young people are organising and presenting. The Guild Dedication will also take place on that day.
The Quinquennial Visit by representatives of Falkirk Presbytery will take place on Monday 8th October. They first meet with the Minister, then the Congregational Board and then with the Kirk Session. Our Session Clerk advises that, in general, the purpose of the visit is to see how we are getting on; what we have done over the past five years; what our plans are for the future and to be sure that we are in ‘good health’.
This month the Guild will be looking at the start of a Three Year Theme which is based on their motto Whose we are and Whom we serve. At their meeting on 10th October they will be concentrating on ‘A faith to proclaim’.
On Sunday 14 October the service is expected to be conducted by the Presbytery Visitation Team.
Harvest Sunday is on 21st October. Donated dried/tinned goods and a retiral offering will go the Glasgow City Mission.
