Cumbernauld Old Parish Church is delighted to announce that the congregation has elected Rev Elspeth McKay as their new minister.
A date for the induction of Rev McKay to Cumbernauld Old has still to be set, but is likely to be towards the end of July / start of August. The congregation is looking forward to welcoming Elspeth and her family into the community and will post further information about her induction once that becomes known.
Meanwhile, the worship, witness and work of the church continues, and so we encourage everyone to continue to give their full support to the Interim Moderator, Locum and office-bearers.
On Sunday 30th April, Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will welcome Rev Elspeth McKay to preach as ‘sole nominee’ for the vacant charge.
Rev Elspeth McKay has been recommended by the Nominating Committee elected by the congregation and, following our worship service on Sunday 30th, there will be a secret ballot of our members and adherents present at the service on whether or not she should become our new minister.
This service will take place in the Parish Church at 11.00am and replaces our usual two services at 10.15am and 11.45am (the latter usually at the Forge Centre in Balloch).
The ballot, of those on the electoral register of the church who are also present on the day, will follow immediately after the service and the result announced shortly thereafter.
So, whether you are a regular attender, come to our church occasionally or haven’t been for a while, we look forward to welcoming you to Cumbernauld Old on Sunday 30th April at 11.00am for what is the next chapter in our congregation’s life.
