Re-Imagi-Nation Festival at St Mungo’s

St Mungo’s Parish Church is delighted to be playing a small part in the upcoming Re-Imagi-Nation Festival taking place in Cumbernauld during 19-21 May. The festival is being run by the Edinburgh International Book Festival in conjunction with NL Leisure and Culture.

St Mungo’s Church is hosting an exhibition on the Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm about New Town Life and Housing. A smaller photographic exhibition will be run by the Church itself at the same time showing the history of the Church’s construction. The Sanctuary shall also be open for those visiting the exhibition to view.

The Utopia to Carbuncle: Town Centre Walking Tour which starts at Sacred Heart RC Church at 11.30am on 20 & 21 May concludes at St Mungo’s Parish Church around 12.30pm where some refreshments shall be available. There are many varied and wide ranging events taking place in the town over the Festival – if anyone would like any further information please message Kathryn Ross via this page.

Doors Open Days 2015

Doors Open Days 2015Two of our churches are taking part in this year’s annual Lanarkshire Doors Open Days event, which runs over the weekend of Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September.

Doors Open Days takes place in different locations in Scotland throughout the month of September each year and allows people access to buildings which are not usually open to members of the public.

We hope you will pop in and have a look around our beautiful and historic buildings and say “hello”. We’d be delighted to see you.

Cumbernauld Old Parish Church will be open from 10.30am – 5.00pm on Saturday 12th September and again from 11.30am – 5.00pm on Sunday 13th September (plus Sunday worship at 10.15am, of course!); and

Kildrum Parish Church will be open from 10.30am – 1.00pm on Saturday 12th September, with public worship at 10.30am on Sunday 13th September.

Two of our sister churches in Cumbernauld – Sacred Heart and Church of the Holy Name – are also participating in Doors Open Days. Full details at www.doorsopendays.org.uk
